The Lynch/Gubnitskaia duo was formed in 2017, when they were hired to perform as part the ''Les Soirées Lyriques'' series in Montreal. From here, they began building programs together and performing in concert series in Quebec and Ontario. With funding from Montreal's Bourse Jeunes Volontaires, they were able to produce a first recording, featuring the music of Robert Schumann and a solo piano transcription by Liszt-Wagner, at the Chapelle Historique du Bon Pasteur. The album was released in 2018 in both audio and video format, and excerpts from the recording were featured on Radio Classique's ''La Plage Musicale'' program. The Lynch/Gubnitskaia duo enjoys exploring rarely performed gems in the art song répertoire, including Benjamin Britten's unique Russian-language song cycle, ''The Poet's Echo,'' the eccentric ''Ludions'' cycle by Erik Satie, and excerpts from Lili Boulanger's ''Clarières dans le ciel'' cycle. Recent performances include a concert at the Maison de la Culture Pointe-aux-Trembles, featuring a program entitled, ''Le Poète Parle (The Poet Speaks),'' a reference to the final piece of Robert Schumann's Op. 15 Scenes from Childhood. The duo's new program, ''Ombre et Lumière,'' focuses on French and contemporary Québécois composers and premiered at the Maison de la Culture Ahuntsic in spring of 2022.
